It's Been Awhile!

Hello everyone!

Lordy has it been awhile. I doubt most of you will remember me, so much has happened since I was last active it's hard to even summarize it.

First, I would like to apologize for my failure to bring the 3D Battlemech Chess Game to Fruition. Shortly after embarking on that project, I lost my patent to Volkswagen, my company that it was founded on had to close, I finalized a divorce, gained full custody of my two children, filed for bankruptcy, and moved 4 times since the last time I was here.

And now, I'm typing on a computer I had to build from components pulled from the recycling bin at work. Currently in the process of installing Mechwarrior 2 again. It's my first PC that I've had running Windows in many years. All previous work/net access was through my Macs and iPad (of which only the iPad remains).

I work full time as an SCO Unix/Red Hat administrator over roughly 463 IBM Servers and various Point Of Sale systems. It does not leave a lot of spare time for play, but I'm trying to reclaim some of my past life.

As far as the Chess Game, I actually did get a rough layout in Unity working with a single model/animation, it's sitting dormant on my old iMac's Hard drive in a box. And by "rough" I mean, board with walking routine. No where near playable. I would still very much like to finish it, especially since most of my time is still spent on my iPad.

Enough of over-personal reintroduction aside. I'm really happy to see this site still active, if not slightly dormant/void of active users. Raddick I see you're still responding. That's good.

I hope to become more active as time permits. I'm also registered/lurking at MechwariorOnline (mwomercs.com) now, I hope to see y'all there!

Hey Keebler, yeah of course I remember you.
Kinda hard to forget someone who wanted to develop an app like that.

I'm sorry to hear about all the trouble ya have had over the years that hurts to hear, but I am sure glad to hear you are getting back on ya feet.

I been wondering what ever happened to that project, since i love chess.

Sorry to hear about your rough times. they ain't been all that great here either.

Lost a parent right before xmas, kid went to 16 different doctors in February and had eye surgery on both eyes...and was close to failing kindergarten because of lack of a developmental diagnosis. the eye surgery was really helpful, and new meds, have my kid back on track in school, and will only have to take a summer class. car has been busted since the beginning of the year (only about to get it back repaired next month) Kids mom was admitted to the hospital for a nervous breakdown, she ain't been to work since before the first.

so don't feel alone and it sounds like your on the upswing as well.


i really hope you get some time to work on the chess project, i was really excited about it.
