Post up anything you would like to talk about here.

Ohhhhh! This is getting good. Netmech and risk! Could life get any better. Here's another idea. Like the risk board game, we could say a player (Team) only gets so many mechs, or mech tonnage. He then can disperse the mechs on his lands, When attacked he then only can die so many times with that tonnage of mech in the battle. Once a player dies so manytimes in battle he then ither looses or gains the terrotorie. The attacker can attacks with as many mechs as he wants. He only risks weaking other terrortories of his. Just like rolling the dice in risk but we get to pew pew!

If this is the case, one person could be a whole clan, and we would have no problems with the time line. As more people join we could add more clans.

Every month or 6 months we can reset the game and start all over.

we could even do 3 person teams, because that is all we could ever do in a game with out really loosing people.

We could put every one's name in a hat and draw 5 or 6 teams. We could meet once a week to do our wars, say sunday nights. then spend our weeks planning stradigie.

just an idea,

There is an interesting concept, "RISK: The Clan Invasions". It would nopt surpise me if they have a galactic style Risk game, i have seen one version for Middle Earth (Lord of The Rings), and a nifty one i got is "RISK:2210 A.D.", not only do you get to duke it out for earth but you get to do the moon as well.
I belive the idea SkyFaller and myself have in mind is more like MPBT:3025, but we are revolving arround the Clan invasions and we play out the battles for territorial comquest in MW2 (MW2:MercNet if we are going to try and mix the IS and Clans togeather on this).

Some league idea in MW4 that never took off:

older ruleset: http://kathuliki.com/Project/original-rules.shtml

I always liked the map.

That is actually awesome!
Allot of work has gone into that idea. I has planetary conquest, and a nice bit of BattleTech lore twisted into it. I also like the fact that it is small enough for say 20 players in the league, yet at the same time it could easily accommodate 200 (or more) players. And it only needs just a quick makeover to convert it over for use with MW2: NetMech since most of the core rules have been established.

I wish could find the Zellbrigen Ladder rules I had written up. The idea never really took off in MW4 because, like this league shown by Archon, it broke down the standard 'gang-bang' melee on a single player in the open as well as allot of other common tactics by replacing/enforcing them all with the Clan style combat and honor. In short you were not realy scored by winning the battle but by how closely you followed the rules and fine arts of Batchall and Bidding and Zellbrigen, winning the battle was just a small bonus to your score. Anny more you gatta love the BattleTech lore to enjoy a league like this.

Thanks for these links, but I'd like to keep things simple, keeping track of who owns what material and planets, at the most. Of course, you can run your own game using rules as complex as you see fit. I'll submit a new draft of the rules when the current tournament is complete.

I don't see what's wrong with a simple warpost. Something simple to start with would be awesome

Love the idea, just curious though, about how many games are we playing right now? Enough to warrant 40+ players in such a league?

I don't think there will be more than 6-12 players.

Hey all,

It's been a long time since I posted , life in the life lane.. I have a ton of code that we used to use for Lethal Heritage league. I originally wrote and deployed the code for MechWarrior 4. It can be completely modified to suite the needs of Mech2..

Some of the things I have developed are a 3050 (slimmed down planetary) and a 3050 territory capture just like MPBT3025 used to have. It's not exact but it was a working replica. The league's were simply challenge/capture. Rules sets were easy enough and it was all pretty fun. ( I think I actually attempted to move things to MW2 but got side tracked at some point. )

I also believe I have some ladder software someplace on this hard drive.

the URL is still active.. http://www.lethalheritage.com

Anyways I am happy help.

I will check back on this thread in a few days.

Cheers !!
