Dosbox crash on VISTA

Hello!

i searched your Forum for my Problem but even google just find four links. Ok, i installed Mercs through DOSbox 0.73 and it works fine until i start a campain or a instant action mission. Just seconds before dosbox is closing, it gives me this Error Message: "RET from illegal descriptor type 0".
I tried to install it with MechVM but it doesnt work. I tried to locate the problem and i think its something with the graphics. I changed the graphic setup in the optionsmenue and some of them causes the crash another doesnt.
Do you have any idea?

Version: Mercs Retail 1.05
OS: Vista 32 bit

You might try some other settings in DosBox.conf, but I can't look them up right now.

He probably created a CUE CD image, and mounted it using imgmount, as described here.

So, every possible setting in dosbox an Merc tested. Nothing helped Got still the Message: "Exit to Error: RET from illegal descriptor type 0"
Hmm...I only found a setting at mercs which doesnt crash immediately at the beginning. But it crashes when i shoot the ground and there are also some graphic issues...

The Setting is:

Object texture = off
Terrain Textures = off
Display Detail = Low
And everything else at on or High.

Hmm, this has been bugging me as to why your getting this bug.
Have you tried upgrading to 1.06 then trying to play?

Other than that this bug is a mystery to me.
Only other suggestion which I can make is that you may want to at least try the CVS build http://builds.tharos-online.de/current_dosbox.zip
It is possible it is a problem in 0.73..... dunno

Also, you are launching mercs.exe and not the shell correct?

Lastly have you tried changing the render type from direct3d or something to directdraw, open gl, etc?

Game is patched to version 1.06, yes.
The only Dosbox-Version that works is 0.73.
The shell crashes immediatly to the Desktop if press the "Launch" Button
I've tested every render type
