I first got into BT with the original DOS version of MW2 released, since then I have been an huge fan of the MW games.
Anyways, played GBL and Mecrs about 7ish years back (titanium version sadly), and started playing my DOS MW2 recently. I noticed that I am not able to avoid fire by just straffing anymore and that the AI actually leads its shots, but I remember being able to take down assault mechs on hard in mercs with the commando because they would shoot where I used to be.
Has anyone noticed this about titanium? Just curious to add to the list of things to hate about the inferior "shiny" version.
Does Titanium seem to have a retarded AI to you?

ah I wouldn't know. Don't have Titanium. If I did, I'd probably fix many of the project file problems such as missing insignias, and repair the game engine to use the Pentium edition wepons rather than the imbalanced Mercs wepons.
You're serious they seem retarded?

When it comes to aiming is seems like it. When I played mercs I would always use nothing but the commando until you have the chance to salvage the first catapult. Never lost more than half my armor on any body part because I would straff every target and use jump jets to out run the LRMs ability to turn. Its sad how harmless an atlas can be on the hard difficulty when you run circles around it.

Are you playing 31stCC or just Mercs? If you are playing Titanium 31stCC, I can modify the mechs for you to where all the limbs count as the cockpit. you know so if you get shot just a couple of times you die. that oughta add a challange to it

Well, I haven't touched my titanium mercs in a long time, just 31st DOS recently. Thanks for the offer, but if I wanted that I could just strip away all the armor.
Gotta say though the two worst things about Titanium is that weapon fire doesn't work the way it should half of the time (hitting instantly at the speed of light or completely wrong location/target sometimes, the GBL torpedoes always fire blanks with a lock on) and that some missions can not be beaten legit. (mechs stuck right next to the biodome on 31st) Titanium Mercs actually crashes trying to load the Ice platform in space, 2nd mission, (when it gets towed) if you install the game on software (looks worse than a DOS/pentium copy) instead of hardware acceleration mode.

In researching possible mods for the Wolf and GBL campaigns, I get a similar impression. Yesterday I destroyed a
Direwolf, Marauder, Gargoyle, Hellbringer, Rifleman, and a Stormcrow, by dancing around in a Firemoth. It may be that this can be fixed in a mod, because in the trial where you can become Wolf Khan, the AI seemed much more vivid ... hint for experts: GPS tag in BWD files.
