Geez
I'm looking at the Kodiak's Variants over the years
so horrible
The only decent one is the First and the 2x LBx20s design
Poor Poor Kodiak could lose horribly in a long range engagement

Eh, maybe without decals and special textures maybe...Skyfaller wrote:While the Stone Rhino's classic art absolutely doesn't match the loadout, it doesn't scream "hit me" nearly as loud as the Highlander or Kodiak ...
I would pick the Executioner, it's usual loadouts leave room for speed and manuverability, while at the same time giving you an array of weapons that will serve you well in battle.
I normaly pick speed with short range weapons; if you are able to out-manuver an enemy and they can't shoot you, you can dash back and fourth and then move in for the kill

Yeah, I tried "swift-and-close" on my "flaming Galuzza" map, I kept running into trees while in torst-twist; not easy to fight like that in those places...Pepsi-Wolf wrote:until you trip over a rock

I can't stand most assault 'mechs, really. Blech. If I absolutely had to choose one, I'd say the Warhammer IIC, solely because I had an awesome toy of it when I was about 6.

I think you'd truly appreciate the Assaults more if you played the board game.
They are machines with incredible roles. Assaults on enemy bases/stars/lances/planetary/, and Intimidation Tactics. I think Smoke Jag, Ghost Bear played their Assaults rather well. They often had full Trinaries full of Assault mechs only. You'd hate to have to stand up and fight against a whole Trinary of Assault mechs at your doorstep
In the board game, they are quite often targeted most, but for good reasons.

I would have to say a Warhawk/Masakari (Same Mech). Awesome fire power with 4 PPC's, with long range LRM-10 to soften them up before decimating them with an alpha-strike or two.

Re: Best Clan Assault Mech
The Warhawk Prime is a...prime...example of fear mechs that the IS endured in the clan invasion. I believe Smoke Jag's Mistweaver galaxy fielded plenty of those. If you want another good alternative to the Warhawk prime (because of heat issues), look at the Warhawk alt C. Heat is easier to manage, plus a targeting computer.
again this is from a board game perspective.
