Possibly to use MW2 Pentium Edition with Vista?

Hi guys.

Grabbed out my very old copy of MW2. Tried to install it via DosBox but didnt work.
Ive got two cds in the case.
"Mechwarrior 2 : Enhanced for the Diamond Monster 3D" and "Mechwarrior 2 : Pentium Processor Edition".

I use Win Vista Home Premium 64-Bit. Is there any way to get it to work?

Edit: Another question and i didnt want to start a new topic.
I just downloaded the NetMechDos.Exe and it starts perfectly. Am i able to play Online with you with NetMechDos? Because ive only got IPX as connection variant.

Yah you can join us online with that just fine, but you need to join our irc channel to setup a game.

As for the versions you own, yes they do work on Vista 64bit I believe.
You need to use the hook though for the pentium version... and the 3dfx version well... that can be emulated with dgvoodoo+ hook combo.. online though does not work with those since we use the DOS version and you are on vista so the netmech does not work. DOS with DOSBOX will work way way better for you than the 95 versions.

Also you will have to combine the other patch in order to get around the mechlab bug.... As I said the DOS version is preferable, if you want an easier setup ebay that.

Second: What to do with the hook-thing. I even can´t install the game so what to do? Step by step pls

First set the compatibility wizard on the mech2 cd.
For the hook though basically what you need to do is create a shortcut to the inject file that you installed.. then make the target also have mech2.exe on the same line..
Basically "C:\Program Files\MW2Hook\MW2Inject.exe" "H:\Mech2_95\MECH2.EXE"
Paths will be different but that is the idea.
If you get past that I will give you the next step.

If if the start the editet shortcut-hook.exe it just says the same if i just startet the mechinstall.exe. Compatibility is set to Win95. Error:

Incompatibillity with 64-Bit OS.

Well, there is always kontza's patch. You can see instructions on how to apply it on a vid i put together for XP.
