You can take your time with it - not being allowed to die/reload on hard while shooting for a good score can be frustrating. This is the best one I've managed so far:
PILOT: BRYAN PAULSEN
CLAN: Wolf
RANK: Khan
HONOR: 210145
KILLS: 116
HIT%: 82%
LAST MISSION: Trial 4
Only on Trial 2/Cold Crescent ...

No Reload Challenge
Has anyone here tried to play the game without dying/failing on hard (if you die/fail you start all over from the beginning), but while also trying to maximize honor points?
I'm going to be trying to do it, I'd be curious as to if others have done it/want to do it, and what scores they can get.

Re: Getting 100% Hit Percentage
That's good to know, I had a feeling it wasn't really possible given the number of times I'd be shooting an immobile building and the hit wouldn't register occasionally.
I had a feeling it was fake from the number of kills listed, but I figure I'm not an expert at the game, so maybe I was missing ...

Getting 100% Hit Percentage
This one alludes me constantly.
How is it possible to score 100% on hits? Even on super easy missions like Pyre Light the best I can manage is usually around 80%, even with making sure I hit every single time, at least from what I can tell.
The only reason I ask, is because at a fan-site they've ...

Re: Cannot Initialize download...
I don't think it matters where you put the image as long as the image itself and the .cue, etc. are in the same directory.
You need to have the mech2 directory within the dosbox folder for it to work right, though.

I put the "cue" file in my Mech2 folder, is that wrong?Sir MMPD Radick wrote:I am unsure whether you put the img/cue in the right folder...
To play the game you simply run mech2.exe inside of DOSBOX. (Assumed is that you are in the right directory)

Re: Cannot Initialize download...
I seem to be making Progress with method #6, but at the very last part (the lines after autoexec) I don't know what goes in the last space.
Here's what I have:
mount C C:\DOSBOX\
C:
imgmount D "C:\mech2\MW2image.cue" -t iso
What command is supposed to be the one to actually start the game? I keep ...

Re: Cannot Initialize download...
I've read the guide (multiple times), but I'm still completely lost.
I get that:
"Program Aborted! This product does not presently support Windows NT."
message.
Also, the VDM download says the file is invalid/corrupted.
I read MechVM's "readme", and the "Autoexec.nt" is something I've found ...

Cannot Initialize download...
I'm running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3, and I'm borderline computer retarded, so I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I have the MechWarrior 2 95 with DOS and NetMech version. Everytime I try to initialize the install I get this message:

Re: Wolf Missions - Pyre Light & Scorching Sand
Well Bryan, I hate to say that you are wrong, but I have looked at it before. Both in-game and searching through the YELLAREx.BWD files with my hex editor. There is nothing in the AREx files that indicate an additional structure of any kind as a tertiary objective. And I am convinced that this goes ...
