Here's a few screenshots I took while watching a bot battle in MW4. I was just playing with camera angles.

Although Battlemechs do mimic (some) humanoid movement, Wiki defines the difference between humanoid and vehicles. Although it still could be subjected to one's opinion. I.E. if you were in an Elemental battle armor, technically you're a literal person, but also piloting a mechanical object -- and then the same could be said about piloting a battlemech since you're hooked up to a neural helmet)The character is nominally a literal person; humanoid movement is expected. Games that primarily involve piloting vehicles are more correctly classified as vehicle simulation
you would send your wingman to die while you sneak around:P
as far as mech 4 as being a dumbed down sim, i would have to disagree with you there.if you call mech 4 a sim,,,it is a dumbed down sim
your last 2 sentences, IMO, favors more that mech4 is more of a sim since you can jump side to side like a FPS.you aren't really "piloting" and more, there aint much diffrence if you were in that mech, or a giant person running around, that is all the movment you can do, forward, back, and jump forward and back. just like a FPS. actually even more limited since you cant jump to the side.
you did not mention that mw2, as with the the following mw3 and 4, all can use the mouse. Although i will admit its a bit more difficult to use for mw2, since the targeting reticle doesnt float freely.Cyril wrote: also the controls are just like a fps, in mech 2, 3. you either needed the whole keyboard with the defualt, or you customize and concentrate them in one area. but if you tried to play mech2 with just fps controls,,,you would be missing out on half of what a mech could do.
