Resolution + Colour issues

Trying two different version of Mercs, an old Softkey windows 95 release that installs v1.06 and a Titanium version that installs v1.1

An odd thing that happens is in the Titanium version the resolution is stuck at 640x480 and the movies and menus are stuck in what appears to be 256 colours.

Meanwhile in the Softkey version it allows me to select up to a max 800x600 and the movies display properly.
(Tried on an old laptop that is allowed to select up to 1024x768)

Anyone got any tips in improving the Titanium version? The only thing that appears in the video option menu is "Direct 3D"

(btw big thank you Skyfaller, wonderful being able to startup and play Mercs again so easily in Windows7 64bit!)

well the titanium actually is maxed at 640 x 480. Only way around that is some hacks... look around the forums for a resolution changer... can help sometimes.
as for the color issues... hmmm odd i only ran into that on battlepack for 256 colors. Not sure sorry.
Color issues though sometimes on the 95 version can be fixed with alt + enter

No luck with the MechPrep.exe res changer, you are meant to just put it into the game directory and run it there right?

(btw, anyone ever have any joy fixing the overpowered medium pulse lasers?)

yeah pretty much just stick it in the dir. dunno weird.
Regarding the med pulse in titanium, nope no one has looked into that.
Netmech we can modify those but titanium the wep table is likely in a diff location and no one has looked for it to my knowledge.

i managed to modify the prj and replace the rakshasha
with a marauder and play as it in the campaign
though thats off topic
but anyways i never really found a way to fix the
Dkup.dll error popping up
640x480 max resolution
and the green largelaser problem
along with the terrain only 1 large box of textures
and vast textureless land beyond it

Ouch, well experimented with a vary of patches with no luck, thanks for the the response though

Nice to see people still care about the game!

I can patch the missions and the campaign along with having edited mech files for purchase
throughout the campaign. So far i managed to add the
Hornet (non upgrade) , Mongoose, I.S BA at the start
i just need to find a way to add money to the starting 1,000,000
and make it 3,500,000
and as soon as i think i patched everything
i will make a upload on the patched prj
so that every mission will have less or no error
and the Market will have more tech mechs
including clan tech.

the only way to fix the green large laser is replace the mercs 8bit prj
is replace it with the gbl 8bit prj
and the betty system is replaced with the clan betty
one thing i also noticed is that th gbl 8bit prj has all files for all three mechwarrior 2s
