MechWarrior 2: Resource Forum

sadly there is not much attention being payed to Mw2 (no availiable working editors and mission makers)
Its been a year since we talked about this subject
so i want to go ahead and try my luck

do you think we will get the source from activision?

unlikely since i asked last. since gog came around it is more likely they will make the dos version available.. thats my bet anyway

gog might but the source will not be given to us like that
its just going to be a 5 buck game that may not have any change
id also say mw2 is kinda free because its on ROM sites
but its piracy
what we would really be the best is that
Gog updates everything for the game
(screen resolution . etc )
and some kind of prj or mw2 editor

But mostly id rather the source
because we could fix those bugs and add new mechs for more fun
and weapons are more tt

As a software developer, I would love to see the source code released. Think of the possibilities.

I don't see why Activision / Microsoft won't budge on its release. It's not like they are making money by keeping the source code locked up. Isn't there some way the community could make a deal with them. Maybe the forum can promise to promote Activision / Microsoft for a year or so if they release it.

Sir, is there any chance of asking for it again?

I think I'd have to strike up a new site and get more interest before I tried again to do that.

Should we contact those on MWO and MW3 forums?
this will be beneficial if we get alot of help from old mech2 lovers.
