Hailz!

Glad to finally be able to post/reply on the MW2 forum!

I started with the Mechwarrior series back in 1999, playing MW3 online...

I liked the game so much, I got hold of the MW2 game series and some of the old Battletech rpg manuals! :D

(Also kept up with getting all the MW4 series video games.)

I play offline mostly and switch from one MW series to another when I get bored.

My real fun, is making up new "game scenerios" to play offline, using the MW Instant Action menus. :geek:

I like the BT universe and have written some stories/history for my "team" and for these game scenerios.

Currently, I'm working on a nice back story for a game scenerio for MW2: Mercenaries. 8-)

I call it: "Desperation" :o

It's an easy one to set up and just uses the random mech/planet/mission generation program in the Instant Action menu.

Nice to meet all of you and I hope to particapate in keeping MW2 fun and interesting...

-Bat

PS: So how does one get their "logo" to show each time they post/reply?

Hey welcome battloid!
It is good to see another person interested in Battletech. :)
You should contact Cyril on IRC he regularly plays megamek online.

As for the "logo", I believe you are referring to the signature.
You would add that there. (Unless your referring to the avatar which it appears you already have so i am guessing it is the sig) ;)

Welcome to our site! Glad you found us :)

Are you talking about actual game modding in Mercenaries? We'd love to see what you've got. I'm the resident modder here. I've made custom mech chassis, new maps, cheats... But I haven't made any Mercs mods yet. My top priority would be to keep Mercs instant action missions from sucking :P . I'm not quite sure what you are working on, but I'm very curious.

Hope you will come stay with us.

Thanks for replying to my intro guys...

I'm happy to be talking with others very familiar and dedicated to the MW2 series... :geek:

(I got some obscure MW2 questions for you guys... Hehe.) :ugeek:

For now, let me satisfy Col. Kell's curiousity with more detail about that MW2:Mercenaries "Desperation" game scenerio.

Along with your computer and the game cd, all you need is a pencil and paper...

(To keep track of some missions, the mechs used and salvaged.)

I guess it's kind of a blend of a Battletech rpg and a MW video game.

Basically, the story sets the goals and the machines you start with...

(In this case, 1Elemental & 2 Battle Suits.)

Using the Instant Action menu, all you input is the suits/mechs your unit is using...

(Of course, you also customise the unit's mechs in the Mech Lab from the salvage gained from each mission/battle...)

The I/A menu randomly selects the enemy mechs, the objectives, terrain/time of day, etc for each mission.

You continue doing missions until one comes up where you must destroy a Star League Defense Base Complex at one NAV point, (what I call the base that has 4 square towers connected at top by walkways and various buildings within their perimeter) and a dropship at the other NAV point. (In the story, the personal ship of the pirate leaders.)

Once that's done, you have won and the rest of the pirates will leave the planet! :o

(If you make it that far...)

I'm still testing the difficulty and polishing the story. But, if either of you are game, I'll send the story/brief instructions to you over the next week or so to test it out...

sounds interesting. Only, I wonder how long it would take before you actualy come across the Star Legue structure (actualy a mech training complex btw :P ) AND dropship on the same mission...

Hey guys - MG_Man's here.

I've been missing a while, haven't I? I guess I sorta lost interest.

I'll see if I can start playing some more.

You joined before me? I guess you have been missing.

If you do get playing again (offline), try some mods! :)

Yes, I have indeed noticed one thing is that the modding scene is up, and according to your info on the FEFF tag, that it is possible to add extra mechs without replacing old ones?

I think that's pretty awesome. I'll have to learn this stuff myself. We could start a project to re-create some *or all!* of the MW3/4/MW4Merc mechs in MW2.
