Hey everybody! Great I found out about this site, this is neat.

I first came across this site when I was rubbernecking at what my older brother was doing online. Turns out he's been spending some lunch breaks on this site for a while.

I have been a fan of MechWarrior for... i dunno, about 5 years or so. What caught my eye about this cool game back then was the action and explosions and life put in it. One day I got to play it on our family's computer, and I loved it!

I don't know why so many people I know keep saying the old games are "obsolete", this one... it stands firm even through a whole decade! But many days I feel like playing this age old game more often than my games for xbox. ;)
Unlike many other games that have been made, MW2 has this... something to it that makes me want to play it over and over again, even though I mastered it lots of times. It just doesn't get boring!

But this place looks like fun. I'm glad I snooped! :P

Don't forget now, "Slavick", that I let you use my email to register. Had I not, you wouldn't be on here as a member. You must be in awe of my generosity.

Welcome Slavic!

I agree with your statement 100%.
I think the reason for it is the amount of realism and depth that is put into MW2. Feels like you're actually being a part of that universe. The immense storyline and history of Battletech is what draws me to it.

Hope to see you here very often :)

A warm welcome... :)

Yes, I have to agree with you infraredcentipede, that must have been what drawed me into the game. The storyline, the realism...
Now about this site, this is great! I didn't know there were so many downloads for mechwarrior 2 and mercs, I always am looking to add on to a great experience, if only I can try them all... ;)

But I don't see any new maps in the downloads, I often see my brother playing missions I've never seen in the normal game. Are there new levels somewhere on here? Am I overlooking anything?

Welcome again Slavick!

Well Col.Kell designs maps no one has. :)
But for mercs maps downloads you can get them at http://mitglied.lycos.de/wuh/depot.html, but I believe Myg included them in his new mercnet package already.

You know all those times I am on my bed near midnight with my laptop? Think of me as Dr. Frankinstein; an evil genius working on things hidden from the world...

But those "missions" you saw, all those are were just experimentations on mission objectives. ...If I was going to make new mission tables, I was at least going to make it look like a new mission while I was at it. :)

If you must insist on new missions, I can show you how to use a hex editor or Skyfaller's cool program "MechVM", and you can "install" my trial of grievance missions.
Or for mercs, I've got some missions I downloaded from sarna.net, I can put them in your missions directory.

Hi, I'm new here - I'm not big fan of the Battletech universe but love Mechwarrior2.
I remember playing round my friends house when I was 10 or 12 and occassionally thought about this amazing game until I purchased the softkey version of it a year ago on ebay.
I knew nothing about the compatability of win95 games and my attempts were futile installing it.
That is until I found Sir MMPDs vid on youtube! Thank you so much for reviving this much cherrished childhood experience!
