they keep a good list of *cannon* mechs (meaning mechs that were designed by FASA -- and to some extent, Microsoft)

My favorite Mech would defiantly be the "Nova"... It was the only Mech I used for the longest time and it was the only "Naturally gunboated" Mech. (No modifications needed)
It also can run at Mach 10 (Slight over-exaggeration) and has decent armor.

Always been marauder for me. Both the look and how it is just an all around great mech for most situation.

clan wise the marauder IIC has always been my favorite assault, I've always had a soft spot for the hellbringer and the gargoyle too.
In terms of innersphere mechs I would have to say the zeus and flashman due to mercs nostalgia.
