Logitech G15

I guess they made another Iteration of this keyboard
it is a very nice keyboard. MMPD and I both own the 1st generation.
It is very smooth to type on, and has a nice keyboard buffer. to be honest I dont use the LCD much besides to tell time and how much RAM/CPU i am using, nor do I use the Function keys often.

Still a great keyboard tho

I must echo what Pepsi just said: the G15 first generation is great!
The second generation or third if that is what it was is not impressive. The review needed more details. My main complaint about the new generations of the G15 is that the lcd is smaller and that cannot be covered.
I know the second generation had an orange backlight, that I would find to be extremely annoying if I had that.

When I am using my G15 I actually do use the LCD though for the cpu, ram, and fraps.
It is extremely handy when using fraps as i can see if fraps is recording and the framerate at a glance.

As for the G keys I do use them depending upon what I am playing.
For example with games with hundreds of keys that must be remembered the G keys are essential.
The best feature of the G15 keyboards though is that the windows key may be disabled with a simple switch. I use it all the time.

Ya,

I wasnt really into the new generation's LCD

I think the 1st generation G15 needs/ed improvement tho. There are some bugs that come with it. For example, if I use the volume dial, it completely makes all my keys unresponsive.

But other than a few minor things, i love my G15. I probably wont replace it for many years

I just saw this in a PCWorld ad, but, who here has heard of a "Cyborg" Gaming keyboard made by Saitek?

This looks really cool; the chrome, the G-keys, the software, all those little lights that could potentialy set off a siezure...

it's at http://www.saitek.com, but you could probably look it up online to see some pix.

I got a Cyborg Command Unit http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/cyborgcommand.htm
I use a Microsoft split keyboard. i ain't found a gamaing split keyboard that i really like. but i'm still looking.

as for the cyborg command unit...the keys have a downslope that i aint used to yet. the softway looks like is should be easy, but i cant get it to do what i want. there is a selector switch on the unit that lets you change profiles on the fly. while i see that as being useful, i think it may be adding to my programing problem.

the thumb stick is nice. i could see it being really great for a fps that you don't have to jump in. but if you wanna use the stick for fps and your thumb for jump as well,,,youc ant really hit a direction on the stick and the jump button.

there are plenty of buttons, and besides besides the downslope, if feels just like any keyboard
