Mercenaries critical error message

Post by Formula Warrior »

So I got MW2:M to install properly, the game runs fine initally but whenever I try to launch a mission I get an error message like this:
MW2.EXE - fatal error #53: SYSERR_CDNOTFOUND: CD-ROM not mounted
I tried using slugs hook but it didn't work.

I'm running windows XP SP3, and I don't know what version of Mercs I have.

Thanks in advance for any help :D

Not knowing the version kinda makes this difficult to say much of anything other than are you sure you have the disc in drive D?
It has issues running if it is not the lowest CDROM drive letter...

Kinda need more detail.. version should say on the disc.

I am having the exact same problem

I am running 1.05 under DosBox. I Created an .iso from my disk, and I have mounted it as drive D in DosBox.

I have installed the dos version in XP without DosBox, and it works fine. However, I would like to resolve this in the event of an inevitable OS upgrade.

Great site! Thanks for all the information and help found here.

EDIT:

I fixed it. I was using a .iso file, but when I switched to a .bin/.cue pair, it worked great. I made the .bin/.cue with Alcohol 120%.
