USB mouse working in PS/2 in DOS

Hi,
I got Mercenaries installed on an old Celeron 500 machine with Windows 98 (w/KernelEx applied to it to give it some light XP functionality)
Now my original mouse with the wheel was malfunctioning and I knew I had an old USB to PS/2 adapater laying around.
Went to the dollar store and bought mini USB optical mouse and mouse pad.
Of course it didn't work. The mouse not the pad (j/k)
Tried it with another older USB optical mouse and it works beautifully in DOS.

This pic even shows the adapter that I used.
Just in case someone gets the hankerin' to go Old School and sets up a real DOS Box.
