3. If you are using 95 Mercs, please provide what method you are using to run it? (ie. Kontza's or Slugs Hook)
4a. If you are using DOS have you read the install guide?
4b. If you are using 95 have you watched the 95 install video?
5. What were the steps that you did after the initial installation? (if applicable)

Tarantula in Mercs / MechVM

Hello,

I'm playing the MechVM version of Mercs and was wondering if it was possible to make the Tarantula available in any way? I used to love that thing in MW2 and would really enjoy playing it again, even if it was just in Instant Action.

Roleplay: Tarantula? Never heard of it. Must be something new. It's not listed in the current field manuals - I've got the latest edition, 3052.I'll need to check with command on that. /Roleplay

Tarantula is a mech2 mech that can only be obtained by using the cheat enzo in trial of grievence or in netmech multiplayer.

That's the one - 25 tons of unconventional goodness. I thought I saw it referenced as I was installing MechVM - that's why I asked. I thought it said something along the lines of "Battlemaster - Not installed, Tarantula - Not installed" (or words to that effect).

That's a direct copy from the file. What's (vaguely) interesting is that this is an invalid xml fragment - it either needs to start with

I have added roleplaying tags to my previous post, but I guess I still need to explain. Tarantula is a Mech described in Technical Readout 3055. It does not contain information on when the Mech first saw field action, and in fact Mechs listed in that readout have seen action in Tukayyid. However, Mercs ends with the Battle of Luthien, and its files do not include that mech. Otherwise, MechVM would have imported the file. MW2: 31stCC and GBL contain the Mech, and therefore MechVM will extract the Mech from these files if present. You may even configure and take Tarantula into the Jade Falcon and Wolf Clan campaign missions if you use MechVM's shell. It may be possible to create a patch that integrates Tarantula into Mercs, but I don't have the time. Sorry.
