MechWarrior 2 DOS - HELP please! :)

Post by Dan Pyre »

I'm having some trouble with this part of the DOSBOX install.

mount C C:\DOSBOX\
C:
imgmount D "K:\Virtual CD's\MW2.cue" -t iso

I'm very confused... I've found the readme file so I know where to put my code, but when I input it, all I get from the Box is a bunch of error messages.

My DOSBox folder is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\DOSBox-0.72
My img/cue file is located in C:Program FIles (x86)\Steam\steamapps\(//And if this needs to go here, then IMAGE.img)

So how exactly would you make mine work in the .conf file?

Thanks,

Dan Pyre

FYI: 64 bit Vista =/

I'm running DosBox under Vista64 too. I get sporadic errors, but nothing consistant enough to debug.

Please create a folder named "C" under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\DOSBox-0.72", and edit dosbox.conf as follows:
mount C "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\DOSBox-0.72\C"
C:
imgmount D "C:Program FIles (x86)\Steam\steamapps\IMAGE.img" -t iso
The quotes are needed because of the spaces in the paths. It is possible to buy MechWarrior 2 from Steam? Didn't know that.

Nah, it's just in Steam folder because my Dad would flip if he found out I had installed "external programs" to run MW2.

SO I hide it there.

Anyway, what do you mean, make a "C:" folder? a screeny to demonstrate plz?

Oh, and do I need to include the quotes as well?

EDIT: NVM, understand now. Once I get the game up and running I'll try and get NETMech up and running. Any ideas on how to go about that? And when are you guys on (Eastern Time)?

pretty much what skyfaller said was accurate. I cannot give any advice over and above that.. only thing I can do is offer to do it via remote desktop or something. It is very simple.
James 3:5-10: My Reminder
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
