if i buy a windows 95 edition of Mech2 and an S3 virge gx2 card for my computer running 98 with a 1ghz celeron processor and 256mb RAM....will the game run smoothly if i put the s3 files into the folder?
in otherwords is the s3 game playable with good framerate?

Hmm, possibly depends, but I could not say. I have never set that version up. I have both the card and the version of the game but never saw a point to install it.
3dfx version is probably the best version of the enhanced editions when it comes to framerate and graphics it is the best one.
