I've always wanted to know what's everyone elses favorite mech?
mines is the iconic Timber Wolf also known as Madcat, nice versitle and always blown up in the intro but reliable yet

I also like stormcrow for its ability to take a shot and deal it back
I have found lots of "expert" pilots prefer Fire Moth

My choice is none other than my Storm Crow.

There are many mechs I like:
Grizzly, Mad Dog, Zeus, Warhammer, Stone Rhino, Atlas

Usually configured with 4-5 Medium Lasers and sometimes one or two PPC's, then filled with (double) Heat Sinks.

We might just merge the threads, and/or have a stickied topic where everyone can share their favourite mechs, possibly sorted by mech class and IS/Clan, to prevent this topic from being discusses in new threads every few months.

For heavy mechs, mine would be the Direwolf. LOTS of firepower and room for customization.

For medium, I'd pick the Grizzly. A nice range of weapon sets combined with jets, speed and armor.

For lighter mechs, I would pick the Nova.

Chassis Fail is Fail.

Dire wolf is Assault Chassis
Grizzly is Heavy
and Nova is Medium

I also like the riflemen even if its dead without arms and the maruder PPC heavy, it destroys everything with its blue particles in seconds except elementels unless you have sharp skill with ppc's

I still prefer a stormcrow for its speed even for its tonnage at 55 it performed almost like a corvette only with ferro ferbious, and sorry for re-threading an existing one.

In 31CC, I like the look of the Mad Dog the most (or tied with Timberwolf). Of the mechs in GBL and not in 31CC, the Stone Rhino. And likewise in Mercs, the Cauldron Born.

More generally BT-wise, I like the Black Lanner (at least until the MASC fails ).

Aesthetics can mean as much or more to me than performance in a scifi game. It is fun to win sometimes though, so practically speaking variety is nice.

A Stone Rhino with some LBx-10s, LRMs and jumpjets is pretty sweet.
My other favorite would be varient C for the Summoner (in certain environments like cratered moon or ice plains.)

Definitely a tie between the Storm Crow and Cauldron Born alt. config. A. At least for clan 'mechs.

Catapult is no-contest for I.S. I love all of it's variants. Even the Kurita version with 2 PPCs instead of LRMs.
