SO whatever happen to the mech series?

Such as, Mechwarrior 5? or Mech Assault 3? Like i know Fasa was shutdown but microsoft has the rights or something to there games? some one want to fill me in on the rest or correct me?

Well, there will be another game, probably Dark Age.
Microsoft sold the rights back to Jordan Weisman.

Dark Age!
Well, i guess it depends on what part of Dark Age. I wouldnt mind play the part of history at the start of the Jihad.

There are number of fan mods, rewriting and reverse-engineering efforts under way. Check these:
Assault Tech1: BattleTech
They have come closest to actually recreate a complete MechWarrior, but it's not open source. Instead, it's written in a strange Basic dialect. Currently, they're working on network gaming for their engine.
MechWarrior: Living Legends
They plan on modding Crysis for Mech combat. They've still got a long way to go, but they're making nice models and videos.
And of course, we are keeping
NetMech alive.
And there are various mod projects for MW2, MW3 and MW4. So MechWarrior is by no means dead!

There was a Mechwarrior 5 game scheduled, but there were issues and it got cancelled, I died alittle

Hey guys i sent them an email im just waiting on a reply. I also sent on to day1studios. I asked them if there would be a mechassualt 3 they don't know since microsoft is not working with them anymore on a new at this time.

I can't wait for AT1:BT to come out, MW2 with new gfx will be awesome!
and when they do Mercs!
however i can wait forever for MW:LL
and in my opinion, some of their design choices are less than accurate to Battletech

I still say it is mech3 with new graphics, the feel is nothing like mech2.

that is because Btech is a board game. board games don't transfer to computer very well in most cases. so you have to scrafice somethings for gameplay.
even Megamek, b tech on the computer, dosent translate out exactly. there are things in megamek that you can't do in btech, as well as vice versa.
