Mechwarrior 2's chief programmer, Eric Peterson.

Eric passed away on May 5th. He was a dear friend of mine and will be greatly missed. Eric had been battling poor health for a decade, and had fallen on hard financial times at the outset of his illness, but eventually both things stabilized. Late last year his health took another downturn and he started suffering severe neurological problems. His family informed me this morning.
If you knew and loved the game, or Interstate 76, or Mechwarrior: Ghost Bear's Legacy or Heavy Gear or Mechwarrior: Mercenaries, then he touched your/our lives all in some way.
Thanks for your time.

I have heard of him some years ago. His loss is a loss for the community and will be missed. May he rest in peace.

This is sad news, we had him on the forums here a while back. He probably is still part of the roster.

wasn't he one of the few people involved with mech 2 that actually talked with the community??
I can't think of anyone else.
RIP

That is sad to hear.
I never played Interstate 76, but I have played the other games listed and they were all fun games that made for fun times.

oh wow...didnt see this before. Rest in Peace.
I think Repromancer did drop by our community and even flashed some MW2 code before? MMPD would remember. I thought I saw someone say he lived in La Jolla, CA -- which is where I work. I always thought about the random chance I would have been able to actually visit/talk to him, but i guess that's no longer possible.
