For the older PC games:
- Descent
- Diablo
- Wolfenstien 3D
- Doom
- Heretic
- Hexen
- Blood
- Shadow Warrior (They have remade this game recently, it was a good remake if you enjoyed Shadow Warrior)
- Half-Life
- PowerSlave / Exhumed
- Quake
- Duke Nukem 3D
- Tomb Raider (Who here remembers the original Nude-Raider patch/emulator that ended up getting taken with a C&D?)
- StarCraft
Not sure if they belong on the list as they are Mecha, but I enjoyed EarthSiege and Heavy Gear.

Newer PC games:
- BattleField 2142
- FarCry
- Area51
- Legend of Grimrock
- Borderlands
- Rage (I went into this game primarily for a glimps of the new idTech engine, and the experience with the scenery alone would sell me on an expansion/sequel.)
- Team Fortress 2
- AVGN
- Bioshock (have not played the newer BioShock games)
- Tourchlight
- Portal
- Sanctuary RPG (while a newer game it is an old-school ASCII style game)

For Console:
- SMB (NES and SNES)
- MetalMech (NES)
- Final Fantasy (the only FF game I have not liked so far was the FF XIV games, too slow and strictly online)
- Demon Sword (NES)
- Legend of Zelda (NES & SNES)
- The Legend of Kage (NES)
- Crystalis (NES)
- Castlevania (NES & SNES)
- Ghosts & Goblins (NES)
- Wizards & Warriors (NES)
- Kid Icarus (NES)
- Willow (NES)
- The Lost Vikings (SNES)
- Knack (PS4)
- Asteroids Deluxe (Arcade, my brother picked up a defunct Asteroids unit and got it working when he was taking an electronics course in collage)

For none-mech games that I played online significantly was TF2 and BF2142.

I remember the old Jane's Combat simulators, we had gotten a copy of the Long-Bow simulator from my uncle. I messed around with some of the JCS games, but never got serious about them.

Another DOS game I really like would be UFO: Enemy Unknown\XCOM: UFO Defense ( Both are same game, just different region.) The game takes place in 1999, when aliens start appearing around the world. Your job is to manage every aspect of a shady paramilitary organization call XCOM, tasked with finding more information on the aliens\destroying them. Really great game indeed.
The year is 2015. For a Mail Officer, LIFE is WAR, and DEATH is the only true peace.
