Btw, a guy had trouble converting his Pentium version (Windows) to 3DFX and run on Windows 7 64 bit, so I made a short guide for that route as well:
-How to convert Windows retail version to 3DFX and run on Windows 7 64bit:
1. Download nGlide and install it.

2. Copy all the files from your Mech2 CD to a folder on your harddrive. Call it Mech2Setup.
3. Download
http://toastytech.com/files/Is3Engine.zip and extract into Mech2Setup.
4. Set Windows 95 compatibility on setup32.exe, run it and install the game.
5. Copy dplay.dll from Mech2Setup/DirectX to the game installation folder.
6. Download the 3DFX conversion files (those on Vogons & other places don't work for converting!) So please use these:

7. Set Windows 95 compatibility on mech2.exe
8. Run the game with mech2.exe and enjoy!
Not using MechVM since the UI in game goes away when converting!

I'm having alot of troubles after extracting the 3dfx conversion to the pentium Mech2 directory since I got the Pentium edition from ebay. Whenever I click on Mech2.exe with win95 compatibility it won't run, even if I read the instructions and followed it completely (I did NOT extract the zip or rar that was on Vogons). This may end up splitting this post to a separate topic but here's my specs:
Brand- Dell Inspiron 546
Processor- AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core Processor, 2.40 GHZ
RAM- 4 GB
Video- ATI Radeon HD 7750
Sound- Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio
Hard Drive- 451 GB
OS- Windows 7 (64 bits) Home Premium Edition

You need to give some more details. Where don't it run? When you try to start mech2.exe or when trying to launch a mission?

As for of where it doesn't run-
C:\Program files\activision\mech2
as for when I start mech2.exe-
I was trying to start the entire game but it refuses to launch especially running it with the win95 compatibitlity and as administrator

EDIT: I found the problem on mine, It won't run due to Spybot S&D being a Spy! It now works since I uninstalled S&D
