The Timber Wolf would is easily my favorite mech. Good speed and is usually equipped with nice armaments. Plus this mech I remember playing with Demo version. The Jehner (not sure if spelled it right) is fun to play with in instant action missions.
The Mad Dog is great killing machine for only 60 tons.
The Nova seems to be a good sniper unit, since it equipped with all Large Lasers plus the Nova is very fast, useful if the enemy gets too close, only down side it's bad at climbing steep terrain, bad turn ratio, small torso turn; fortunately the Nova is equipped with jumps which can used to compensate for these faults. In Mercs I like piloting the Panther since I like having a PPC during the early missions. My best gunner I seems to do well with an Assassin. I can't rate the remaining mechs since I haven't play far enough yet in Mercs.

Fire Moth Fast Speed Annoying Perfectly fun

Nova Is my favorite 50 tons no torso and im the only one that uses one I have some killer setups for these.
THE SPIDER. That is a interesting mech if its legs didnt get shoot off so easy i might use it more.
