I can confirm; you cannot simply cut-and-copy then give a WAV file an SFL suffix. It has to be an honest to good SFL file, otherwise, it will not play when it's que is called up in a SCN1 file, and you will hear nothing.

Did you change the file extension in the local header .WAV?
