Thanks for MechVM

Post by merc »

First, thanks for the excellent program. I installed and it worked in Vista Home Basic to install Battlepack of MW2 and GBL.

Second, I cannot edit mechs in the game (a common problem I have found).

Third, when I go to the mech lab of MechVM, no Chassis show up. How do you edit mechs with MechVM and use them in the game?

Sorry, but I haven't yet found the time to look into these issues.

Well, MechVM does not import Mechs from MW2:Battlepack. You can import the mechs manually (Install|Import), which will give you the configs, but you will not see the mechs as 3D models. So, I guess I never automatized import for BattlePack because it does not run stable and MechVM cannot display mechs in 3D. I could add support for importing the mechs, and MechVM could be set up to replace Battlepacks's shell, but you may be better off trying to run BattlePack in VMWare. If that does not go well, I suppose you will not be happier using MechVM with it, because in my tests BattlePack's sim often crashes under current OSs.
