I was just wondering if there was a way to patch the games once they are inside of mech vm. I'd really like to have a swing at that dynamic salvage that gets added in mercs after 1.05's patch.

MechVM was designed to ease the creation of patches, so it certainly does not mind if you patch your games. I advise to create a copy of an installed game before applying patches in case something goes wrong.
