MW2 Freeze?

I recently found my old Mechwarrior 2 Titanium Edition CD and Installed MechVM. I installed the game through MechVM through the CD. I went to the games folder and launched the game, the intro plays fine but when i get to the menu screen to choose your faction, no sound plays and I cant click anything. How do I fix this? Im running windows 7 home premium 64-bit, 6GB Ram, 2.53GHz Dual core, and a nvidia gtx 260m (1gb).
