This is a handy mech renaming utility for MechWarrior 2 created by Will Day.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Mech Rename guide
This is a little command line utility I wrote to easily change the
name of my User Varients, because I was tired of launching Norton Disk
Edit every time.

Usage:
MEKNAME mekfile.MEK ["new mech name"]

If you don't give it a new name, it'll report the current name:

C:\> mekname smn01usr.mek
Reading mech name from smn01usr.mek...
Current name: Falcon Killer

Or you can give it a name, and it'll change the name.

C:\> mekname smn01usr.mek "Wolf Buster"
Changing mech variant name in smn01usr.mek...
Old name: Falcon Killer
New name: Wolf Buster

If you have any problems with the program please let me know. As
always, I take no responsibility if it screws up your custom mech
files, so always be safe and make a backup before editing.
