MechWarrior 2 95 - Slug's Hook

Wow, now this is what I call a great birthday present!
Slug just released today an updated patch fixing mech2 95.

I have tested it and it works great even in SP3!!

The process is a little bit different, but generally it is the same.
Please those that have tried the methods on this site in the past, try this!

Indeed, this is tremendously huge if this is true.

It runs very smoothly, i have tested 2 versions so far.
However, on SP3 I have encountered a bug :| No custom mechs whatsoever.

I am trying to confirm whether SP2 has the same issue now.

Update: Confirmed SP2 has the same issues.
(Mech2 95 only)
I do have a workaround though that is confirmed to be working in SP2/SP3, if you use his old patch with the new patch and use the following switches with the new patch /-startup /-mechlab it does run perfectly.

mmpd can u walk me through how 2 use the first patch cuz me confused :shock: im usin the first patch and put it on my desktop but when i double click, all it takes me 2 is a blank my computer screen.

I'm not sure how to use it either, I'm not a programmer so i don't know what that black screen means.

Well there are a couple ways to set it up, you chould use the run command and give it its commands that way, you could do it though dos as well. But the method that I find most useful is just a simple shortcut on desktop.

Blue is the exe file, green is the shortcut path, and purple are the hacks you want to use (put them all in there if you want).
I obviously just put MW2Inject into the MW2 folder that I wanted hacked, put the name of that specific MW2.exe file in the blue spot, and your good to go after you add the hacks, all after the .exe path of course.

i tried slug's hook out on the titanium editions and it worked well (but my editions are a bit a damaged due do a guy spilled a bit of soda on it still worked hey at least he didnt spill it on my prised Mech 2 Dos Edition)

how exactly do you edit the shortcut? nothing i try works.

when i install the injector first it says cant find game installation and that i could make a shortcut. MW2Hook has three files in it. license, mw2shim.dll and MW2inject. if i run the injector it just gives me a box with info on how to input the hack. so i created a short cut and this is what i have to work with:

target: "C:\Program Files\MW2Hook\MW2Inject.exe"
start in: "C:\Program Files\MW2Hook"
shortcut key: none (can only create ctrl/alt quick keys)
run: normal window
comments: na

ok i tried this and it worked but crashed instantly

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Mech2\MECH2.EXE" /startup /MW2Inject.exe

MW2 fatal error: #29 syserr_cantopenbwddosfile: error opening bwd file: s.$ id-1
