Re: Game Resolution
Test the patched DLL cautiously. Close all other programs before using the patched MW2. I have seen it cause Windows XP to reboot. Use at your own risk, DOS is best for testing it. It is a work in progress.
However, it works if you need 800x600 on an old display.

Re: Game Resolution
Well, the DOS patcher is stable enough to play the Jade Falcon campaign in 800x600.
More importantly, I tried to create a similar mod for Titanium Trilogy: GBL. I got a little further, I've tested resolutions 800x600, 1024x768 and 1400x1050 successfully. The catch: the mech target display must be deactivated by pressing F4 twice first, or the screen gets messed up. I have not witnessed bad crashes. 3DFX is not needed for this.
You can create a patched MercsW.DLL by placing the resolution patcher below in you Titanium Trilogy: GBL folder. Run it there to select your favourite simulation resolution.

Re: Game Resolution
I've tried to create a similar patch for MW2:Mercs Titanium, but so far ... unsuccessful.
Better news on MW2:31stCC Titanium, the GBL Titanium resolution patcher works exactly as for GBL.

Re: Game Resolution
I tested 1280x800 resolution, but the results were bad. Apparently, the engine cannot deal with non-4:3 resolutions. Aside from the targeting error of setting the display to render in a 640x480 part of the window, there are strange artifacts where the screen is not cleaned up properly. However, 1400x1050 appears to be quite stable, as long as you turn the targetting display off by pressing F4 twice. I wonder if there have been similar experiences with 3DFX, but if this approach would work I'm sure it would provide better performance than the 3DFX wrappers.

Re: Game Resolution
OK, I retried MW2:Mercs (Titanium Trilogy), this time with success. The new patch is subject to the same targetting bug, so hit F4 twice before targetting anything. For Mercs I have had errors in resolutions 1024x768, 1280x1024, but 800x600 and 1400x1050 work just fine. You should be able to use the patcher below on any of the Titanium Trilogy editions. Just place it in the main instal directory. I'd like to hear if it works for anyone.
Looks like I'll have to replay all campaigns to test for stability, again. Well, there are harder burdens.

Re: Game Resolution
Ok, just setup mercs titanium and tried to run the game at 1600 x 1200, the game crashed immediately after launch.
Also tried 800 x 600.. no dice... sorry

Re: Game Resolution
I tested the resolution patch for Titanium with the following computers
and resolutions:
Acer Travelmate, Windows XP SP3, 32 Bit:
640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1400x1050
Sony Vaio, GeForce 8600M GS, Windows Vista 32 Bit:
640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x800
AMD Opteron 185, GeForce 8800GTS, Windows Vista 32 Bit
640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1680x1050
I had absolutely no problems running these resolutions in 31stCC and GBL.
Mercs caused a few glitches, but sometimes it worked on a second try.
If it doesn't work with your computer, please try installing with MechVM,
then test that before patching.

Re: Game Resolution
Hey there sky, great work on all the stuff so far!
I wanted to ask you if you could create a long-distance view patcher for Mech 2 titanium (Netmech edition).
I am planning a re-package and re-release for use on the anet server with the new version of the chat program (that isnt broken).
Any help is very much appreciated.
Cheers,
PS: Ive been out of touch for a while, so if such a thing already exists, I would appreciate a link or a location to find it. Thank you.
