What is the Shell?

Post by BentLent »

First things first... Would this go in the Modding and Development Section? Also, what exactly is the MW2Shell, if you can give me technical details on what it is and how it interacts with the sim, that would be nice. It is very hard to find info on such an old game.

Yeah sounds like modding, so yeah moved there. As for the interaction with the game. I get the feeling that mostly the shell just runs command line commands to dictate what to do from the game and gets a bit of info back whether successful and scores and such mostly. Skyfaller probably would know more since he looked into it. I am just going by what I have heard over the years. I haven't looked at that. mechvm though if you look at it he has the shell emulated.

Based on Skyfaller's last visit time, he may not be on anytime soon, though I may be wrong hopefully.
