MechWarrior 2 95 - Install Guide

Please note you must have the x264 codec in order to view this or just use ffdshow.

Quick Install Guide

1) MechWarrior 2: 95/Vanilla/Netmech/Pentium Non-Retail

1. Install MechWarrior 2

2. Download Slugs patch here

3. Open the patch and select the directory you installed MechWarrior 2 in.

4. Set the Compatibility mode to 98 or 95

5. You are done!

2) MechWarrior 2: Pentium Edition

1. Install MechWarrior 2

2. Download and Unzip XVI32

3. Run XVI32

4. Replace all instances of VESA480.DLL to VESA768.DLL in MW2SND.CFG with XVI32.

5. Download and extract the replacement MW2SHELL.DLL, GDI42, VESA768 to your MW2 Dir
SHELL_VESA_GDI42.rar

6. If you do not have an archiving tool which can access .rar I would suggest that
you download an Open Source program called 7-Zip.

7. Set the Compatibility mode for Mech2.exe to 98 or 95.

Multiplayer

If you are seeking multiplayer, the easiest way to play is using the package created
by Myg here

Netmech 95 does work, but kali.net is the only place to play with it online at this time.

I watched this video back in August of this year, thanks for making it, I wouldn't have been able to play MW2 ever again if you didn't!

But one question, what was it you used to record this video? Was it some kind of software?

I used vmware to record the video back then.
