Thanks for posting this!

Is DosBox all there is to it to get MercNet running, or are any alterations needed?

I'd love to play with a larger selection of mechs and inner sphere mechs. And please upload the maps. Are they single or multi player maps? I never looked into the Mercs map creation tools.

I've seen the Mercs map creation text document and tools, if you made a book out of the instruction document, it would be as thick as the bible. I've looked at it again and again, but I never can find time to read all this.
And Skyfaller is right, can you PLEASE upload these maps? This treasure-trove of goodies? Is there a link you can post? Is this for singleplayer or is it online only?

One of the map editors has a GUI, so it's not too difficult to do basic things at least.

Mercs/Mercnet runs fine in DOSBox -- just need to mount the cue file to host Mercnet games and run single player missions.

I can give MMPD what I have (although I may have already given it to him awhile ago) if he wants to post it for download. There is stuff here that has at least some of it -- http://www.sarna.net/wiki/MechWarrior_II . I think I have at least a few more missions than are at that link though (not sure exactly how many). I know of one single player mission (it's launched via Mercnet, which can be launched with no players with version 1.06), but I think the rest are multiplayer. AI mechs and networked multiplayer mechs can not mix well, it seems. Although, the helicopter and convoy vehicles shown in the pictures in a previous post worked fine in multiplayer! So either the mission designers did something different or non-mech vehicles are treated differently than mechs.

I have tried these mercs custom maps, there are actualy three single-player maps. One of them is "Radar Raid", another is "Darkest hour" which simulates an invasion on Terra, and the third one plays as a level where you are pitted against 31 other mechs in a bloodname grand-melee.

But, awsome maps there np! Thanks for the link!
