Re: MW2 modding

I just took a second look at the Weapons Shop, and it is was made in Visual Bassic 4. Thats getting back there a few years with Windows 9x, I think some of the VB4 stuff might have still worked in XP, I can't remember. So your going to want to set this up in a VM with the Win95 (up to Win98SE) OS in...

Re: MW2 modding

Not familiar with Weapons Shop, but for my first try I would match up the program to the correct OS it was made for and set everything up inside a VM. At minimal I could at least modify the files and export them back out for use in my main/working installation. If you have the correct OS for the pro...

Re: MechVM does not work on Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit

Seems to be working fine. I installed the VMware tools, the game launched but had no sound so and had to manually find the sound-card driver, just grabbed the Sound Blaster drivers for Win98. Also I installed the "Software" version of Titanium, not "Hardware", as I did not think ...

Re: Nukes, what were they for?

Mixing MEK files became rather interesting in the later builds of MW2. I remember with the BattlePack you could take your MEK files from CGB and put them into 31CC/NetMech and the weapons and components would function correctly that were only available in CGB (and later on Mercs). The nuke cheat-cod...

Re: What Were The NetMech Clans Like?

As far as I remembered you only need a disc to host a NetMech game, and I thought MercNet was the same way.
Also due to Activision being behind schedule, they released NetMech at a later date for free, you could also buy it too, and was added in with later runs of MW2:31CC.

Re: Old School MW2 player reporting back...

I think I might have gotten somewhere with the server yesterday, looks like I was going about this all wrong as I was able to host them all off the same VM. And this allowed me to easily and get them all through the router/firewall. You will have to give it a test sometime and let me know if you see...

Re: Old School MW2 player reporting back...

I know during the mid-late 90s they started to bundle MW2 with everything. Joysticks, videocardes, new PCs... I use to catch allot of flack in school myself for being such a MW2 nut ever since the game came out (which goes all the way back to middle school for me, class of 2002, so I'll be 31 this y...

Re: Nukes, what were they for?

Hey I think I might have stumbled across something that gets slightly closer... http://www.angelfire.com/scifi2/mechresource/mech2/mw2dloadnf.htm Scroll down and you will see a dead link to "Weapons Patch v3.12", it tells how it adds in the Nuke (but I do not remember having to get a patch...

Re: Nukes, what were they for?

I do not think so as it was a missile based weapon, and fired a missile when you shot it. I know what your talking about though where there is a reactor in a MP map that if destroyed you have to GTFO it ASAP or you will get caught up in a huge blast of damage and heat that will wipe out anything in ...
