Re: New dev goals?

There are a number of projects that could use some more attention: - Decode the EFA files in database.mw2. They are a variant of PCX, with some ffh and other control bytes mixed between. I compared screenshot from DosBox with the EFA files, but I haven't been able to decode them satisfactorily. - Te...

Re: New dev goals?

Thanks. I'm currently recreating the MechLab, and I hope create a replacement for the 2D shell later. That would be an important step towards creating new campaigns. As for modding mechs and missions, I don't see much of a problem here. The existing mechs can be reconfigured freely using the old and...

I use VDMS/SapuCDEx for the DOS versions, and it works for me:

Re: Mechwarrior 2 models

Well, I hve been able to extract and reassemble the MW2 models. If you have the CD, just grab MechVM from my website: http://www.bjoern-ganster.de/MechVM (either compile from source or download the Win32 executable). Then - Insert your MW2 CD - Fire up MechVM - Run Import and select the CD-ROM drive...

Re: Complete MechWarrior 2 game edition list?

I'm just curious, and I'd like to know whether there are editions that MechVM does not support yet, and how difficult it would be to support them. For example, the Japanese versions cannot use 8-bit text encoding, and I wonder if that makes a difference somewhere without checking all source code, be...

Complete MechWarrior 2 game edition list?

I'm trying to compile a complete list of the many MechWarrior 2 editions in this thread. MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat: - DOS, English and translated to German. Other translations? - Pentium Edition (Windows 95), English and translated to German. Other translations? - Macintosh, not using ISO 9...

Re: EA to PC Gamers: “Install 3 times? Buy another copy”

An earlier article said you would be able get more installs on the telephone. If you can't, I suggest you turn to the pirated version once you run into trouble. So don't buy the game before a nice de-DRM tool becomes available. You're the customer, you have the power. I'm not sure if they can deny y...

Re: Mech Lab Maid

I tested it. Unfortunately, it does not calculate tonnage correctly in some cases. It reported 10 tons for the internal double heat sinks that do not take up tonnage. Keep it in mind, otherwise you may blame people for cheating who are not. In case the creators of this tools are still around, I can ...

Re: Standard Mech Replacement

Glad to hear you like it. I'll see what I can do about the exception, looks like a rendering problem, it did not happen to me yet, though.

About the NET.PRJ, it would be possible to exclude the replacement function for the NET.PRJ.
