Re: KAM 1.2 - Fully automated batch files, new mech!

The two-char names also seem to match up with some of the SMK videos for 31cc uhh.. I just said that. Only 31stCC and GBL uses SHP files for mechlab wireframes, Mercs uses SMK video :) I think you'll find you said it calls out the SHP files, not SMK files ;-) ** Three cheers for being a pedantic ni...

Re: KAM 1.2 - Fully automated batch files, new mech!

An interesting discovery relevent to shell-chosen mechs: You can see for yourself these instances, just look at the hex address and go to there in the mw2shell.dll. I have yet to reveil how to use external-prj BWDs. I tried "C:\1.BWD" (keeping the 8-character limit) instead of "firem...

Re: KAM 1.2 - Fully automated batch files, new mech!

As best I can tell, this information is hard coded into the shell executable (MW2SHELL.EXE), which will make altering it a major pain :-( So you are saying that the information the DOS shell .exe (or .dll for Windows) uses to point to a mech BWD and MEK file is made up of all that jibberish hex gar...

Re: KAM 1.2 - Fully automated batch files, new mech!

The shell might take the mech tonnage from byte 0 in the MEK files. For the actual mech editor portion I would say you're right, but for the mech selection screen I think it's in the EXE. Check these out: warhawk00.jpg warhawk01.jpg The table I mentioned before (very similar to MECH.MTB) contains f...

Shell-based mech selections

Hmm... I never thought of the in-game-lab thing. But I am mainly the guy who mods the PRJ, not the Shell. I am learning a little bit, but I'd like to do something like that. Hopefully if I can figure things out I can add KAM chassis selection into the shell. As best I can tell, this information is ...

Re: Subfolder locations in PRJ

Additional: the 32-bit field at offset 8 of the DDIT, INDX, SYMB and DATA chunks is a checksum field. It is a simple unsigned sum of all of the bytes in the chunk (header & payload) excluding the first 12 bytes (the tag, size and checksum fields). I've tested this successfully against all of the...

Got it in one. For reasons that escape me now, it seemed like the perfect name for a one eyed cat ;-)

Re: All right Radick, we need to know.

Now... of course there is still mystery behind the origins of other members! Such as npsbre, Highlander, quota4stupid... and I am dying to find out why Cyril uses such an avatar. Not much mystery behind my name or avatar. The name is just a joke, and is exactly what it sounds like :-) The a...

Re: Call for Help: Creating WTB's

Yeah, why the diamond shark logo was wraped around the Awesome's guns, and why the missle pod textures for the Catapult were numbers. I made those long ago, back when I was only marginaly compitant with "modding" :) Anyway, I just got those by extracting like, the Awesome head (AW1_HEAD) ...

Re: Call for Help: Creating WTB's

Something I have always wondered about; how texturing works on the mechs. Maybe you could answer my question that has sat idle for six months ? Maybe? You seem to know about this more than anyone else does :geek: What was the question - the bit about the Diamond Shark logo? If so, you'd need to tel...
