Re: Old School MW2 player reporting back...
I kinda wonder if PG (owners of MWO) did not go around C&Ding everyone how Mek-Tek's MW4 and the MWLL MOD would be doing for activity. Chances are allot of new comers would get interested into the game by playing MWO and probably run off to MWLL or MW4 as they are more often found to be a bette...

Re: Nukes, what were they for?
Not sure what they were there for, but I discreetly remember that editing .mek files does allow nukes. I bet the developers probably had something planned for it, and then scratched it. Or it was a cheat code thing, because there was a cheat code for nuking. Interestingly enough, torpedos are in the...

Re: Monthly or Bi Weekly
I'd be fine with the Biweekly, though I may not be able to make every game.

Re: Mercenaries DOS Framerate Issues
The thing about dosbox is that it that it tends to limit your CPU output to make older games play acceptably. I distinctly remember being able to run MW2: Mercs on my Pentium 3 700 mhz years back with silky smooth graphics... but today, for some reason, on my Windows 8.1 modern laptop, I do get the ...

Re: What Were The NetMech Clans Like?
Well, like the other MW2 games, you really only need the CD to install it. With MechVM, what I did was copy my disc into an iso file, then used the install image button on MechVM to install it. Never needed the CD since, and even managed to launch Mercnet by myself just fine.

Re: What Were The NetMech Clans Like?
When I use MechVM for Mercnet, the window says it IPX tunnels to Mech2.org... so I'm assuming that running Mercs with MechVM, and going into IPX, does in fact allow us to play online, since i believe that is how the current Netmech build works. If not, I think it's just a small matter of editing a c...

Re: Old School MW2 player reporting back...
Hello and welcome, I think if you copy your MW2 disc onto an .iso file, and then mount it, and then install it through MechVM, the music might work. It works on my end (Windows 8.1), but I have an old 1.0 version of the 31st disc. By the way, we have a online game scheduled for February, and you are...

Re: Favorite Mech Game
Not to mention what they are charging for their digital content, at least when we paid for all these other MW games (good or not) we can still play them long after the developers have sold their rights to it and ended their support for the game, and if not we still have the physical media to the ga...

Re: What Were The NetMech Clans Like?
I kind of missed out on the NetMech experience (regrettably), and really only sampled the community with the odd drop here and there. I played Mercnet a lot though on the 1.1 lobby (it was the easiest to get onto with an old dial up connection, and didn't require mplayer, kali, and that jazz). I rem...
