Yeah it is strange that it thinks it needs the cd. Is this problem just Mercnet, or do you experience it with the main game too?

Yes, under mercenaries patches.

You can also find the patches on sarna.net as well.

You will need to use DOSBOX probably to install it though. Place the patch in your Mercs install folder. Then use dosbox to navigate to that folder and run the patch from there.

I'm embarassed to say that in all my 20 years or so of playing... I never once found the targets of opportunity in those missions. So if anyone has any clue, let me know

Ya Netmech is pretty much ready to go... although you probably want to install 31CC or a mech editor if you want to customize your own mechs. 31CC I run 1.1, although my disc is 1.0.
