Wow! I haven't gotten it to work on anything newer than Windows 98SE.
I may have to try, just in case my Win98SE/XP machine dies.

Did anyone ever patch the broken objectives?
Some of the secondary and tertiary objectives in the first Mechwarrior 2 game cannot be completed because they don't exist in the actual mission. Many of them are "Destroy any targets of opportunity" when there are none to be found.
Did anybody ever put out a mod to fix this?

Win95 vs Titanium
When I got a PowerMac 6500/300 back in 1997, it came with MechWarrior2, but they never released a Mac version of GBL or Mercenaries. Years later, I came across GBL for the PC along with MW2 that installs under Windows 9SE and XP of MW2 in a library "book Sale", but not Mercenaries. A few y...

Re: Norton Anti-Virus Issues
I haven't used Norton in over ten years since Comcast stopped providing a complimentary subscription (they switched to McAfee). However, there used to be a way to send false positives to Symantec for analysis. There were two ways to do it, one in the program and another on the web. This information ...

Re: Keycard for Mechwarrior 2
If they are that hard to find and rare, should I dig out the box with all the Mac manuals and try to scan the Mac version of the MW2 reference card?
It's a bit of effort to do so, mostly because the stuff is all packed up (including the scanner) and a pain to get out, but doable.

Re: Mission: Babysit. Bugged?
The bug seems to still be there in the Titanium version.
I just had the same problem.
So they didn't even bother to patch it.

Re: Keycard for Mechwarrior 2
I'm pretty sure I've got the Mac version of that as well with all my Mac stuff. It looks pretty much the same except I think there is a picture of a Timberwolf on the front before unfolding or it's a booklet (I can't recall. I'm just sure about the Timberwolf). If I got out my scanner where would yo...

Re: New to MECHVM, having trouble with Mercenaries campaign
DO NOT DEMOTE YOUR ONLY ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT!!! Instead, create a new user account for admin purposes. Make it an admin account. Then create a second admin account as a backup. Only then do you demote your current account. You will have to enter the credentials for an admin account then when you w...

Re: New to MECHVM, having trouble with Mercenaries campaign
I am running Mercenaries in MechVM, on a Windows 7 (Service pack 1) machine from 2014. After figuring out some bugs, I am still having trouble...but here is what I came across- On first install, the game wouldn't play correctly unless I did "run as administrator" (I don't know why my comp...

Re: Broken stock configs
MechVM counts the number of Jump Jet criticals, calculates Jump Jet weight based on that number, and any Jump Jet critical may be removed. MechVM MechLab identifies a number of defects and shows messages accordingly, so hopefully, this won't be a problem. I changed a lot of configs already, I've lo...
