I was able to do that while chatting to a representative. She enabled me to do more installs.
If that doesn't work, the next option - also a bit of a cheat option - would be to crack it.

Re: Mechwarrior 2 "oh dang!" Moments
From Mech231stCC... - Zoetermeer (Wolves) - those Summoners that spawn at the end of the mission always end up on top of you even if you had a fast mech. - MacDuff (Falcons and Wolves) - both the escort mission for that Hellbringer and the capture-and-securing of the shield dome was a bit of a pain....

I could kiss you, hooby. But I have to ask: is this technique also useful with the Pentium edition?

Re: [GBL]An interesting DOSBOX install problem
I used MechVM to install MW2 GBL, then made an image of my GBL copy, mounted it via DOSBOX, and played it as if I was playing 31st CC or Mercs on DOS.

Re: Hi everyone. This is amazing.
At last! My collection is complete! Ghost Bear's Legacy finally arrived in the mail and am enjoying it more than I thought I would. I'm playing them on my VirtualPC, of course, but as I'm trying to get them on my DOSBOX on VISTA, my only issue is: when making the image, should I make a game disc and...

Re: Mercs (Win 95) Install on XP?
It's an original CD, SirMMPD Radick. Also, the version can run on both Win95 and DOS. I've tried running the installer through DOSBOX but it didn't work. It installed when I ran the DOS installer from the CD-ROM, but I don't know where to go from there. I tried running mercswin.exe in DOSBOX and tha...

Re: Mercs (Win 95) Install on XP?
Hey, guys. Sorry for my absence. I was just wondering how you install MW2: Mercs on XP with DOSBOX. Can someone point me to a guide? EDIT: I found the guide and tried it, but it gave me an error saying that the program must be run from the cd-rom drive, and asked me to insert it and start again. Any...

Re: Hi everyone. This is amazing.
I think we should make a petition to Smith and Tinker, which holds the IP rights for the Mechwarrior franchise. It would be awesome if they re-released XP and Vista-compatible versions of the old Mechwarrior games, or bundle them up in a special edition for a new, upcoming Mechwarrior title, which t...

Re: Mech2 installation on Vista?
Interesting, well you may want to consider kontza's methodfor vista. That seems to work the best as slugs are not made for vista. Kontza's is not either, but it is OS independant. You will need to swap the mw2shell.dll though with the one from slugs patch, so if you already have it patched to that ...

Re: Hi everyone. This is amazing.
My best memories from Mechwarrior 2: 31st Century came from our first ever desktop. I was in grade 4 and we had a Toshiba Infinia with S3 Virge. Up till then, I was a fan of games like Sonic, The Adventures of Batman and Robin, and Mortal Kombat 3 on the SEGA Genesis. It didn't take long for us to r...
