I am not using DOS-box. I installed using mechvm. The file I use to run the game is MERCSWIN.EXE.

The regular campaign with finances disabled works fine.

Amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 3800+, MMX, 3dnow (2cpus)
1024 MB RAM

Sound blaster audigy

When I play as a mercenary commander the game closes after I press start mission. Is there any way to correct this?

The mech? Yes.

I have nearly beaten the game as a regular mercenary.

I started a mercenary commander campaign, but when I complete a mission the game crashes and brings me back to windows.

I was using MERCS.EXE and MERCSWIN.EXE works also, but with sound.

I am not sure. Is there a file on the CD that I can find the version?

The good news is I have MW2 mercs running. The problem is that there is no sound in missions or menus.

I set the compatibility to windows 95 and replaced the MW2SHELL.DLL file with the one you provided and now I get an error message "MW2WIN.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close." I reinstalled the game and it will run, but I run into problems after I patch it with the Mech2XPv3 p...
