Hm. These files labels seem a little like the ones I'm getting. I extract them using MechVM using right-click->Export as XML and these are the results (in the download link). Are these normal? You will need a hex editor for viewing data in binary form. I got XVI32. Will that do? You can take PRJPP from one of the posted mods.
