Re: Favorite Mech Game
I have a soft spot for Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, it being my first true Mechwarrior game, though playing online frequently frustrated me given the many balancing issues that game had. Mechwarrior 2 feels the most like a proper mech game to me, though I can't get Mercenaries to run half decently fo...

Re: MECH2.ORG IPX server appears to be down
...and there was much rejoicing!
P.S. Now that I will possibly be playing with more than just close friends and family, what's the policy on legging? It is generally considered bad form, or is it fair game?

Re: MECH2.ORG IPX server appears to be down
Turns out getting a LAN party started was as easy as starting an emulated IPX server from within DOSBox, no VPN required. Was able to play on the computer acting as the server, and multiple clients were able to connect easily. Lots of fun was had.

Re: MECH2.ORG IPX server appears to be down
Thanks! That's an undertaking I haven't the resources to try this week, but when I get the chance, I'll try it and post the results.

Re: MECH2.ORG IPX server appears to be down
I chose a perfect time to start trying to play NetMech with relatives
I don't suppose there is any decent way of playing Netmech over LAN, is there?

MW2 Pentium w/Netmech in-game problem
I'm running XP, trying to play what I assume is the pentium edition (has netmech, 95 only). I installed it using Mechvm, and it initially didn't play, so I renamed _dplay.dll to dplay.dll and still only gives me a gray screen when trying to run. Is there any solution for this?
