I just tried installing the Fixed 1.1 patch into the VM mech 2 directory to see if it would make a difference, it didn't. Uber strange. The DVD-rom doesn't have issues with other games that require a CD to run (tried ARMA and mech4), but I am wondering if swapping it out with another one would help....

Some thoughts: How many CD-ROM drives do you have installed in your system (virtual or real)? Please make sure you have Win95 compatibility enabled when using the CD's installer.
